Strap Bridge Nose Pads
Strap Bridge: Strap bridge, strap, bridge strap, or saddle bridge nose pads are comprised of the left and right nose pads positioned at the ends of a flat linear flexible medium. This "strap" is simply bent to conform to the shape of the eyeglass wearer's nose.
Strap bridge nose pads provide a large surface area of contact between the strap and the top portion of the nose in addition to the nasal areas where nose pads traditionally rest. This expanded area of nasal skin contact results in greater weight distribution of the eyewear thus resulting in a lighter feeling pair of glasses.
Since strap bridge nosepads need to be bendable in order to conform over the nasal area, they are often composed of silicone or vinyl based materials.
Strap bridge nose pads are similar to softwing or "unifit" one-piece saddle bridge nose pads.
Common strap bridge nose pad sizes for children and adults are: 12mm, 15mm, 18mm, 20mm, 22mm, 24mm, 26mm, 28mm, 30mm, 32mm, 34mm, and 36mm.
