Eyeglasses Without Nose Pads
Eyeglasses without nose pads or comfort nose pieces are common and generally are exemplified by both plastic eyeglass frames and metal frames.
Plastic frames without nose pads generally have a bridge area that resembles a saddle shape, and hence, this type of nose bridge is simply called a saddle bridge.
Metal frames without nose pads also usually employ a saddle bridge that is constructed of a thin strip of metal that is molded into a contour shape that matches the shape of the nasal area of the frame wearer.
Both of the above described plastic frames and metals frames without nose pads provide very little adjustment capability and hence should be carefully selected before purchasing.
A properly fitted saddle bridge frame may provide excellent comfort to the eyeglass wearer.
Eyeglasses without nose pads may sometimes be modified by a trained optical technician so that they may accommodate slide-on nose pads, screw-in nose pads, or push-on nose pads. If a new frame is desired to have eyeglasses pads, it is less costly and much simpler to purchase a nose pad bearing frame!
